Some thoughts from last night: Good plan, if I say so myself, but like any good plan it didn't survive contact with the enemy. In hindsight we were less than 5 minutes off in setting up the mines at the entrance of the village, which would have made all the difference in the world. Had I been quicker in getting the overwatch position clearing organized, it likely would have went swimmingly. I kept expecting Arch's team to run out of ammo, but ultimately only Sawtes ran low. Maybe we should always bring at least some disposable AT capability, just in case. Thanks to Farsight for the speedball delivery. We could have rolled in a little heavier equipped, we just weren't used to that level of enemy activity. Excellent strafing run by Viking. As close and as effective as you could ever want. From my perspective everyone performed awesome. All in all we accomplished the mission. The people getting dropped and the overwhelming enemy force took from the fun somewhat.

Excellent job everyone! @Wolf2 you did a great job leading Gold Team. Wanted to make sure you knew that. And the whole comms thing... it's just a matter of practice. Most people let go early. It just makes it really hard to know if you're done talking, if you got shot and died, or what. Hope you didn't think I was angry or anything. But you did a fantastic job tonight. @Stillwater You and Blue Team did an amazing job helping relieve pressure off of Gold Team when they started to take the brunt of the attack. The ambush on the patrol was wicked. @Joe Those mortars were spot on. All in all... probably one of the smoothest successful missions I've seen since joining. Great job!! And @Trauma it was a really good OP. Felt balanced and success never seemed for sure until you and Joe picked us up at the end. The map was loaded with contacts so there was always this worry that we were about to be over run but the mortar team did a great job of helping reduce some of that pressure. Thanks for the fun mission!

MISSION BRIEFING 4/14/2018 9pm CST (WE ARE WHEELS UP @ 9) 14/04/2018 BACKGROUND INFORMATION After repeated operational failures, we've been forced to take up a less than desirable contract. The government of Gunkizli has reputation for being corrupt and the army ineffectual, however, they pay cash in U.S. currency. The region is in the throws of an Islamist lead insurgency, with Boko Haram pledging allegiance to ISIS and the black flag of jihad. We're being brought in to take back the initiative and turn the tide of the conflict. The reputation of ineptitude preceding the Army, it's best to consider ourselves alone out here. That means full self sufficiency and establishing positive relations with the civilians in the area, who have been ill treated by both sides of this conflict. While in country do not go off base unless it is enforce. We are outnumbered and out gunned. Good hunting. SIT REP: After meeting steep enemy resistance we were able to eliminate the supply depot. We are going to sweep the villages to the East to making the enemy remains in disarray. MISSION & EXECUTION Boko Haram is attempting to retreat East into the swamps. There are several villages that need to be secured. Be watchful for any of the following: booby traps, supply caches and intel. We will be deploying via helicoters, pack light to maintain stamina. MISSION BRIEFING 20180318 8pm CST BACKGROUND INFORMATION Welcome, gentlemen, to Isla Abramia. A small Island in the Baltic Sea that has seen a recent loss of Independence due to a dictatorial Regime and a cult like following of said dictator. Rumor has it that CSAT has been supplying and aiding this dictator and his Army. Fortunately, the Country of Estonia has allowed us the use of a small satellite Island as our base of operations while we investigate. A rebel contingency has also allowed us a secondary FOB on the main Island to grant access to the mainland from the ground. For the time being, it is unknown whether we can safely fly over the mainland. That being said, our mission here is clear. Find the problems, crush them and help liberate the people of this once free Island Nation. This is not a summer vacation boys, it's going to be cold. SITREP: Rebel factions split in two groups. OPERATION BLACK GOLD (Community Ops Mission) MISSION BRIEFING 20180404 8pm CST BACKGROUND INFORMATION Fellow Spartans, Welcome to Takistan. At 0230 Local, NATO ISAF forces began receiving reports that ISIS has captured an oilfield located in Lalezar. This oilfield helps to provide a decent living for the locals in the surrounding areas. Currently, NATO has their hands full chasing the Taliban throughout the Afghan-Pakistan border, so we have been "greenlighted" to handle this one. Also, if we get this done, the local government has offered to pay us for our troubles. We have been tasked with clearing out all ISIS forces within the Oil Refinery. Simple, right? Now, though they may not be technologically advance, they make up for this with their numbers. So, grab your kit and lets take the fight to them. Mission & Execution: Time: 0900 Objectives: · Primary - Secure the Oilfield from ISIS forces. Rules Of Engagement: Element Lead's Discretion Threat Level: RED Insertion: ELEMENT LEADS DISCRECTION Respawn: ZEUS DISCRETION Uniform: Terrain appropriate camouflage Equipment: TEAM LEAD'S DISCRETION Requirements: RTO per squad or fireteam (turnout dictates) . Came to say pretty much what @sparkstable wrote. Again, good job @Trauma, I like that this mission was directly set up from last week's mission. Good pacing, and the evac under fire at the end was the cherry on the sundae. Watching the map contacts creep in closer and closer, waiting for permission to open up with the mortar was a bit nerve wracking . @CyphasCayne was reportedly injured by one of my rounds, which should not have happened. If you get hit by my indirect fire, let me know. I try to account for variables, putting them as close as possible, but friendly fire isn't cool on Ops. Good job everyone. 10/10 would mortar again.

OPERATION RED CRUCIBLE (Community Ops Mission) MISSION BRIEFING 20180328 8pm CST BACKGROUND INFORMATION Greetings Comrades, After years of intense fighting with the opposing Russian Forces over control of the nearby airfield, we finally have the capabilities to seize the airfield for good. Thanks to past operations, we have enough equipment that will help secure our foothold there and will smash the Russians into oblivion. Primary Objective will be to destroy all aircraft on the airfield. We will also need to destroy their Artillery Radar. This will not be easy, but we must win at all costs if we wish to free our country of this disease. The Russians are well equipped with tanks, IFVs, APCs, and various aircraft, and can easily be reinforced at the thought of being overrun. We must be relentless in our search for freedom. If there ever was a time to relieve ourselves of this Russian plague, that time is NOW! Pobezhdat' (To Victory) Comrades! Mission & Execution: Time: 0900 Objectives: · Primary - Render All Enemy Aircraft Inoperable (Destroyed) · Secondary – Destroy the Artillery Radar Rules Of Engagement: Element Lead's Discretion Threat Level: RED Insertion: Ground Vehicles Respawn: ZEUS DISCRETION Uniform: Terrain appropriate camouflage Equipment: TEAM LEAD'S DISCRETION Requirements: RTO per squad or fireteam (turnout dictates) . SITREP 16/3/2018 New changes are coming in the next few weeks. Some of them are experimental, others will be permanent. These changes we hope will bring more organisation to our operations. There will be some growing pains but they will be negligible at best. First off we will be adopting a 4 man team approach to operations. Team leaders will be predetermined in the mission briefings. This means that we either predefine who you are with, or you choose. This is experimental in the organisation stages but will become permanent eventually. Secondly Community Operations will be held EVERY WEDNESDAY. Hauer will be creating templates for these so if you have any ideas forward them to him. These will vary from PVE to PVP and everything in between. We hope these will become a great addition to our already excellent operations. Orientation has been a mainstay of SPARTAC since the beginning but it has dropped off the radar in recent weeks. It is a non compulsory introduction to the mods, how to get setup, how we "operate" and various other things. Everything is explained by people who are experienced enough to know it all offhand so the advice you're getting is sound. These are making a regular return to our rotation hopefully every 3-4 weeks. Recruiting will be ramped up in an effort to expand our roster with even more excellent and admirable people such as yourselves. If you want to help, please do, but remember to follow the rules of wherever you post, whether it be Reddit, steam, some other place. When you post for us you represent us, make it a good impression. Being more organised is something we've been trying to do for a while and now we are actively making more of an effort to do so. This means that briefings should be up way in advance of an operation so you can pick which team you want to be in. Steam events for the steam group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/spartacgroup) will be consistently going up so you can see what is happening and when so you never miss a thing, as well as some behind the scenes boring stuff I don't do ;). The next few weeks will a little trying but all we ask for (again) is your patience with us. PSA :- If you don't read this, it's your own fault for not spending 5 minutes to move your eyeballs. Stop being lazy and read ;).

Depends on how the Saturday hockey schedule looks. So I may not make it (or may be late). If I make it, rifleman is cool.
