MISSION BRIEFING

9/30/2017 9pm CST

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

TAJIK / AFG BORDER

After extensive NATO and CSAT combat operations, a hasty ceasefire has been signed. The current AO has roughly split latitudinally through the center. Checkpoints can be found along the frontier. Locally, the conflict was low intensity, as the area was of low strategic value. Local Militias 'kept the peace' among the populace for the most part, at times serving brutal 'justice'.  Due to the lack of combat locally, the area became a safe haven for refugees from the surrounding areas, sometimes attracting families from as far as a couple hundred miles. The current situation is tedious. Altercations between NATO and CSAT forces have increased in volume, some coming very close to becoming a gunfight. Local Militias have been hosting demonstrations protesting the occupation, while local governmental forces are largely kept on their bases. Which Brings us to our contract. IDAP has launched a large scale humanitarian mission across the region, because of the scale, and tenuous situation, they have hired as loosely as security. After the loss of Tanoa, and our close call there during the second invasion, we felt this would be a solid contract to take. Anything to get us out of the pacific rim.  Unfortunately, because of the scale of IDAP's mission, we did not have the manpower to cover their operations, and they hired a second PMC, a close competitor of ours for the other half of the contract. We have built a FOB, and an LP/OP near the NATO / CSAT demarcation line to expedite our travel times when needed. There may have been something about NATO banning PMC groups from their bases and FOBs as well.

MISSION & EXECUTION

MISSION 9/23 AAR & INTEL: It should now be clear that some of the local militias have decided to do something about the 'invaders' and staged a minor attack on NATO, CSAT and BLUFOR assets in the region. SOP and ROE remain UNCHANGED. The NATO / CSAT CEASEFIRE STANDS. Pay close attention to the civilian population, watch for forward observers. ANY CIVILIAN CARRYING COMMS ( INC. RADIOS, PHONES, ETC) OBSERVATION DEVICES SUCH AS CAMERAS, BINOS, NVG OR THERMAL EQUIPMENT ALSO FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY AND THESE INDIVIDUALS SHOULD BE EVALUATED AND DETAINED. THEY ARE TO BE TURNED OVER TO NATO FOR DETENTION.

9/30 MISSION

IDAP has decided to disassemble their forward field hospital and move it roughly 5 KM back into NATO territory near the town of Tunkuf. They have staged their equipment over the last 3-4 days adjacent to their selected site. This site is intended to be their primary humanitarian 'FOB' so to speak, and they will be constructing aid stations, offices, semi permanent structures along with their field hospital. Tunkuf is an ideal location, as NATO Forces returning from patrol to the airbase drive right through town.

All was well and good until last night. Several containers were broken into, IDAP ordered its people to stay away from the site, and alerted us immediately to secure the site, and pull security for this final evening before they return with Myrimidones in the morning and properly 'move in'.

We are to inspect the site, sweep for explosives, and pull overnight security until dawn.

Some of our teams will be at the LP/OP across the riverbed, so team leaders should quickly raise each other on radio to coordinate linkup. FOB teams should cover the LP/OP team's transit from the high positions on the FOB.

THE BATTLEFIELD IS HIGHLY FLUID. DO NOT ENGAGE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ENGAGED. IDENT ALL TARGETS!!

It say IFF equipment, so SPARTAC headgear is a good bet. Theres another PMC in the AO, as well as CSAT and NATO and others, so quickly ID'ing urselves is key.

I'll take Team Lead since it's unlikely all votes will be cast by the time the OP comes along. However, in the event that I'm wrong and not voted into that position, I'll rock an LMG.

Sounds like a blast! I'll be there. Medic (if basic) or whatever is needed
